Here’s a List of Colleges’ Plans for Reopening in the Fall
Cheryl
42:51
Is anyone having conversations if your campus will require masks is 6 ft physical distancing required?
Lynn McManness-Harlan, Allegheny College
42:52
I have been asked to rewrite space scheduling policy/procedures, which will hopefully address the nuances of physical distancing and allow my office to finally centralize scheduling on our campus.
Kim Araya, American University
42:59
Love the language change "Physical distance vs Social Distance"
Kerby Nelson
43:16
we are looking at taking our event space and setup for academic classroom space during the day and for some weekend classes due to social distancing and spreading out. We don't have enough academic space to spread students out as much as we need.
Laura Bachman
43:23
Thanks Kendel
Cathy Matthews
43:48
University of Delaware -we have completely redone our capacity charts and plans for physical distancing upon our return.
Mary Kay Baker

45:00
Has anyone come up with any plans for pre season housing needs? We are still moving forward with our plan to house the pre season athletes, but I have not seen any new protocol at this point.
Sarah Goodrich, East Stroudsburg University
45:01
Laura here is another article https://www.phillymag.com/news/2020/05/08/philly-colleges-fall-2020-in-person/
Lois Kubinak
45:23
I would like to know how the capacity calculations were determined
Lindsay Clark
45:23
Great point on catering - I was going to ask what everyone's plan is (if in person events happen in the Fall), how are you planning to feed people NOT buffet style. Recommendations on individual servings for catering.
Mary Kay Baker
45:55
Our university is holding on a decision regarding fall until June 15th....preseason athletes were designated to be the first group that would be allowed to return, if we do open.
Kim Araya, American University
45:59
At AU we are redoing all of our capacity as well setting the rooms up at Max capacity via Social Tables and then our Campus Project Planning is putting this in the system of ARCHIBUS and coming up with the layouts --its eye opening our 348 theater now safely seats 70 :(
Dennis Weller Messiah College
46:05
Will the 6 ft. suggestion for physical distancing be in place when we return to a new normal...or will that be reduced?
Kerby Nelson
46:14
we used social tables to reconfigure our capacities for social distancing
Cathy Matthews
46:16
I am happy to share UD’s capacity chart.
Mary Kay Baker
46:30
Cathy - that would be great - is it available online?
Lindsay Clark
47:30
Would also love to see Cathy - thanks.
Kay Lewis
50:04
We’ve redone our capacity chart and use Visio for layouts. We’ve also added buffers to our calendar to accommodate the housekeepers going on a wiping down the tables and chairs before and after each event. We’ll add hand sanitizer per room, and are currently in conversation with whether/not to provide PPE. We added language to our reservation site, and will change our usage agreements as well. We’re not using rounds if at all possible.
Kay Lewis
51:33
We’re also in conversation with other planners and schedulers around the campus to have a more unified message where event safety is concerned.
Kimberly Ferguson, Norfolk State University
52:44
Great question Kim A. Lots to consider.
Kendel Lyn Jackson, Franklin & Marshall College
52:52
Are there any smaller colleges out there that is discussing virtual/digital conferencing? Or how this will affect a campus that doesn't have a lot of meeting space as it is?
Cheryl
54:57
Kendel we are not discussing this yet until we know if we will have any space to work with.
Kendel Lyn Jackson, Franklin & Marshall College
55:25
Cheryl, I would love to connect with you about this offline. I will shoot you an email :)
Cheryl
55:40
Sounds good Kendel!
Lynn McManness-Harlan, Allegheny College
59:32
We ordered face masks for all staff and students (we're a small institution).
Jon Bert
01:00:52
We are preparing to install plexiglass barriers in all customer service type areas for the fall.
Mariellynn Maurer
01:01:29
The unified university message, I think, is going to be key … it's going to be difficult if different schools within the university have different minimum requirements for physical distancing, ppe, etc. I'm really hoping for a unified approach to all events (conferences, camps, departments, student orgs, etc.)
Lois Kubinak
01:02:10
